Recently, the "Green Methanol Evaluation Method" group standard (hereinafter referred to as the "Standard") jointly developed by Shanghai Environmental Exchange, Longi Green Energy, Shanghai Electric, Lingniu Hydrogen and 26 other industry leading enterprises has been approved and released by the Shanghai Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Service Industry Association, and has been filed on the national group standard information platform. It will be officially implemented in January next year.
This standard specifies the principles, requirements, methods, and implementation processes for the full life cycle assessment of green methanol products, providing a scientific basis for the standardized development of the green methanol industry and the reflection of the green economic value of products. The standard not only benchmarks against international advanced systems, but also combines with the actual production situation in China, covering the entire process of green methanol from raw material collection, pretreatment, production synthesis, to logistics transportation and terminal consumption. At the same time, the standard also specifies the traceability and evaluation methods for carbon emissions, and innovatively constructs a product grading system, laying an important foundation for the promotion, application, and large-scale development of green methanol.
Green methanol, as an important fuel for the green transformation of international shipping, is receiving widespread attention. This year, Shanghai officially issued the "Work Plan for Promoting the Green Transformation of International Shipping Fuel in Shanghai", which clearly proposes to form an internally and externally coordinated green fuel supply system for shipping by 2030, and achieve the goal of green methanol and green ammonia refueling capacity reaching millions of tons, injecting new impetus into the carbon reduction process of international shipping.
In recent years, while actively promoting the construction of the carbon market, the Shanghai Environment and Transportation Exchange has also explored the coordinated development of hydrogen based energy and the carbon market, vigorously promoting the construction and research of relevant standard systems and methodologies. Next, Shanghai Environmental Protection Exchange will work with relevant units to continuously promote the promotion and application of standards, expand the scope of application, continuously optimize the certification and evaluation of green methanol, further improve the industry's service level, assist in the green development of the hydrogen based energy industry chain, and make positive contributions to energy transformation and carbon reduction work.
