Oriental Hydrogen Port: 100 Hydrogen Trucks, Reducing Carbon Emissions By Nearly 10000 Tons Annually
At the busy operation dock in Zhapu Port Area of Jiaxing Port, a huge gantry crane extends its long cantilever to lift goods from the cargo ship onto the shore. Hydrogen energy trucks with white, blue, and green paint covering their bodies and bearing the " Oriental Hydrogen Port " logo are loaded with containers, shuttling back and forth between the yard and the dock, creating a green and low-carbon landscape.




These hydrogen powered trucks have demonstrated impressive performance in port operations: a single refueling of a single vehicle only takes 15 minutes to achieve two-day continuous operation, with a range of about 450 kilometers and an average hydrogen consumption of 8 kilograms per 100 kilometers, which can reduce operating costs by 15% compared to traditional fuel heavy trucks. This "zero carbon logistics artery" composed of hundreds of hydrogen trucks can save the port about 3 million yuan in fuel costs and reduce carbon emissions by nearly 10000 tons annually. In April of this year, the "Green Port ' Oriental Hydrogen Port '" project was selected as an excellent typical case for future industrial innovation and development in 2024 by the High tech Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.




As a national demonstration port for large-scale hydrogen fuel cell truck operation, Jiaxing Port continues to improve its hydrogen energy application ecology. In May of this year, Lingniu Hydrogen Energy deepened its cooperation with Jiaxing Port and delivered 20 new hydrogen energy trucks, surpassing the 100 vehicle mark in terms of operational scale.
